Ones to Watch: Julio Enciso

Brighton - Julio Enciso

Brighton's new number 10 is set to show his quality this season.

A skillful and clever attacking midfielder, Julio Enciso, can be instrumental in Brighton's season as at just 19 he looks to nail down a starting role under De Zerbi. Brighton are quickly becoming the premier league's best club for transfers and scouting, selling players for significantly more than the price they were bought for. The likes of Caicedo, Macallister, and Cucurella have all impressed at Brighton and secured big-money moves away from the seagulls. It seems another exciting talent bursts onto the scene every other week, with Simon Adingra scoring on his debut against Luton and the likes of  Kaoru Mitoma and Evan Ferguson who helped Brighton secure European football last season. Julio Enciso will be hoping to aid Brighton to another successful season and a potential Europa League trophy.

Julio Enciso has only 20 premier league appearances but was awarded the premier league goal of the Season award for his ferocious strike against the champions, Man City. With great close-control dribbling, clean ball striking, and the vision to provide for teammates, Enciso will be used more regularly by De Zerbi as he balances additional games from all four competitions.

Enciso has played across the front line and as an attacking midfielder previously, the departure of Macallister to Liverpool leaves an opening in the latter for a creative midfielder with an eye for goal. At age 17, having already played for his national team Paraguay, Enciso scored 11 times and provided 3 assists in just 14 games for Libertad highlighting his ability to contribute in the final third.
